Helen Woodruff

Year 2 Class Teacher

MA in Geography, Edinburgh University Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Cambridge University

Helen qualified as a primary school teacher in 2008 and has since taught classes in both key stage 1 and 2. She has a particular passion for teaching literacy, especially creative writing. She began her teaching career at Tower Bridge Primary School in central London. Three years later, Helen moved to Uganda, East Africa, where she taught at an international primary school with children from 44 different countries. As well as a class teacher, Helen was also literacy co-coordinator and in charge of the school's theatre productions. It was here that Helen discovered that she absolutely loves working in the vibrant and diverse setting that an international school has to offer. Upon returning to the UK, Helen and her husband Ollie moved to Edinburgh in Scotland where she taught in a large, government-maintained primary and was, once more, in charge of literacy across the school. Outside of the classroom, Helen loves the theatre, reading, walking and swimming with her son Fred. She is extremely excited to return to Asia, having spent much of her childhood living in Hong Kong. She is also very much looking forward to exploring beautiful Vietnam with her family.
